Dear Readers,
Welcome to another Fall Edition of the Judson Mosaic! We have quite a collection of writing, art, and design work to present this time around, and I hope that you’ll enjoy hearing from our many new contributors.
As I was reading through these pieces, I noticed the theme of legacy, both the process of creating one and the impact you leave as you do, running through several of these pieces. Noah Moreno’s and Luke McQueary’s movie reviews humorously hint at what it’s like to look back on a legacy that’s already been lived, while the article commemorating Charlie Kirk does so in a much more somber way. Meanwhile, Collin Szymski’s design piece, The Ladder, reminds us that legacy, like design, is a process that happens one step at a time. Moment by moment. Choice by choice. Year after year. And even now, your legacy is trailing behind you.
Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.” When we’re in Christ, we get to leave a legacy that literally glows. Our lives, the stories we live, and the impact we leave have the power to beckon to those who are lost in the darkness and call them to the light. And when we do that, we get to participate in God’s glory. How awesome is that?
So, as we approach the end of the semester here at Judson, let’s finish well. In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy these pieces just as much as I did, and as you do so, I hope you’ll be inspired to let your light shine even more brightly tomorrow than you did today.
