Dear Readers,
Welcome to the winter edition of The Judson Mosaic! We are excited to present another collection of poems, essays, feature pieces, artwork, and photography by students from Judson.
Reading through the pieces that make up this edition, I noticed that several subtly highlighted the fact that there is warmth, even in winter, and hope, even in the midst of desperation.
In Isaiah 9, Isaiah foretells the coming of the Messiah, and in verse 2, he tells them what will happen when the Messiah comes. He says, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them the light has shined.” Jesus brought light and life to a broken world, and His death and resurrection stands as a reminder that no matter what, hope can always be found in Him.
So, as the sunshine continues to get stronger and shine longer, I’m reminded that even though it is still cold and the flowers are still asleep, springtime is on its way. Until then, I hope you enjoy these winter pieces by the talented Judson community. And as you read, I pray that you will be reminded to focus on Jesus and the hope that He freely offers to all of us.
Happy reading!
