Tiger and the Wind

A Poem

By Vladimir Logan

Memories of old

The power they hold

Let them unfold

And tell the story untold

Sleepy soul of mine

Remembers that which is so fine

Home this way, read the sign

I knew it to because it smelled like pine

My friends, the lullaby they sing,

Chirping all day long what a daze does it bring

In circles we danced like twisters

You flew around and left dew on my whiskers

Skip hop and jump through the forest we went

Trying to follow that lovely scent

One sniff and you’re stiff hanging on a cliff

My nose, it did cringe

My lip, it did tingle

We were ready to mingle

I sat there playing with my tail

Looking in your eyes my heart ever did it sail

You brushed against my fur

That kiss my heart you stir

Couldn’t help but purr

A leap of faith I did take

Off the cliff into the lake

Immediately I did wake

Familiar was the bin

That food dish of tin

In the glass I saw my reflection

It was clear, my direction

I heard you whistle in the sky

You helped me see through the lie

In a hurry off you flew

The destination we both knew

My strength I collected

This love will not be neglected

Gentle not were my paws

Fierce were my claws

Nature has its own laws

Oh how easy it was for that glass to break

Anything is possible when a tiger’s heart is at stake

My love, I’m coming was my roar

After you did I soar

My fur may have tore

But my love, there is always more

Oh the pain, what a dread

All the blood that I shed

A flash to the past

I finally made it at last

I lie by the stream

Wondering if all of this is a dream

Home is where I fled

Together curled up in my bed

I took my last breath

My body left for death

You took back my breath of life

Now you are my wife

Happiness were our tears

Forever did we spend our years
